Cheryl Ann Kiehna

Cheryl Ann Kiehna, 79, of Herrin, passed away on October 30, 2024, at home, surrounded by her daughter and granddaughter, after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Per Cheryl’s wishes, there will be no services. Her family will honor her by taking her to the beach one last time.

Born on October 30, 1945, Cheryl was the daughter of JC and Julia (Markus) Davis. She spent many years in retail, helping others find beauty in jewelry, bridal, and formal wear, and always left a touch of glam wherever she went. Known for her impeccable sense of style, Cheryl was rarely seen without her lipstick and a peppermint in her purse, prepared with her signature touch of sparkle.

Cheryl’s passions were as vibrant as she was: she cherished time by the beach and at her pool, soaking up the sun she so loved. She enjoyed shopping, vacations, and spending time with friends and family. Cheryl had a special place in her heart for animals, caring for countless cats and dogs over the years, never turning away a stray. She leaves behind a legacy filled with resilience, elegance, and a fierce spirit that will live on in hearts.

Survivors include her daughter, Mia (Mark) Fandel; grandchildren Morgan (Alex) White, Brayden (Moriah) Harden, Nolan Fandel, and Alayna Fandel; great-granddaughter, Ellison Mae Harden; sister, Tina (Jim) Simpson; nieces Lesleigh (Chris) Bennett and Mariessa (Curt) Orso; and great-niece and nephews, Peyton Bennett, Kacey Bennett, Christian ( McKenzie) Bennett, Griffin, Orso and Grant Orso.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Melvin Ron Kiehna, and her son, Jamie Stratton.

In Cheryl’s memory, the family kindly requests memorial donations be made to an animal rescue organization of your choice.
