Jimmy Carl Maloney, 82, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully December 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
His wish was to donate his body to science to help others, even in his death. Burial will be at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. A celebration of life will be held at 5:30 PM on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Lincoln Christian Church. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jimmy was born August 23, 1942, in Truman, Arkansas, the son of William Henry Maloney and Mary (West). He married Loma Harper on September 24, 1965 in El Paso, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Jimmy was a member of Lincoln Christian Church. He had a servant’s heart and always wanted to help others. He and Loma supported COPE and IDES and were often involved in clean up and assistance after a disaster. Jimmy worked in maintenance. He owned and operated Jim’s Home Maintenance and worked in maintenance at Lincoln Christian College for many years.
Survivors include his loving wife Loma Maloney, children: Christie (Mike) Soeldner, Suzannah (Ken) Fisher, Ruth (Larry) Swords, Bekki Maloney, and Debi (Gary) Lynch; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 16 brothers and sisters, and 3 grandchildren; Jimmy Conner, Tristan Overbey, and Bo Buckley.
