Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Garriott

Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Garriott, 88, of Lincoln, passed away May 12, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Kenny was born October 10, 1935, in Armington, IL., the son of Russell Allen Garriott and Bessie (Troxel) Garriott. He married Mary Martin, they later divorced. Kenny married Jenny Harrison Johnson, she preceded him in death. He later married Linda Osborne Tripplett, she preceded him in death.

Kenny was a barber in Lincoln for more than 50 years. He also worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections for more than 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 263 and spent most days there with his friends. He enjoyed watching sports and NASCAR, gambling, and a cold Old Milwaukee Light.

Survivors include his son Rusty (Alecia) Garriott; grandchildren: Austin Garriott, Nathan Garriott (Chloe), LaDonna Buckles, Anthony Garriott, and James Garriott; He was very excited that Nathan and Chloe are expecting a child. Several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives Mary, Jenny, and Linda, sons Anthony Garriott and Ricky Garriott, sister Mary Gosda, and Eugene Garriott.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
