Dale E. Wampler

Dale E. Wampler, 87, of Lincoln, passed away October 17, 2025, at St. Clara’s Manor with his family by his side.

Private family services will be held. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dale was born August 15, 1938, in Waynesville, IL., the son of Leonard Carl Wampler and Helen (Cunningham) Wampler. He married Sylvia Kirk on April 10, 1960. He was a church builder who loved the Lord. He was a deacon at Faith Assembly of God. Dale retired from Lehn and Fink after 35 years of service. He was also formerly employed at Central School. He was a hard worker and usually had several jobs. He enjoyed sports and loved to play basketball in his younger years. Dale was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan. He was a strong example of a hardworking and faithful husband and father.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sylvia Wampler; his children: Deborah Ihrer, Michelle Capps, and Ronald Wampler; grandchildren: Heather (Tony) Karrick, Kimberly (Brad) Schneider, Lindsey (Andrew) Hughes, Kolbey (Brian) Bracewell, Alyssa (Dylan) Morrell, Josh (Emily) Wampler, and Roni (Chris VanderSwaag) Wampler; great grandchildren: Grace Schneider, Jett Karrick, Ella Schneider, Tate Karrick, Ivy Schneider, Jaxx Karrick, Bradey Hughes, Hayden Hughes, Mackenzie Hughes, Ava Hughes, Zoey Bracewell, Taylor Bracewell, Luna Bracewell, Laramie Bracewell, Amelia Morrell, Macy Morrell, Eli Wampler, Micah Wampler, Levi Wampler,Theo VanderSwaag and Owen VanderSwaag; siblings Donna Berkley and Gary (Sandy) Wampler; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Todd William Coleman, son in law Jeffrey Ihrer, and sister Marjorie Bicknell.
