David Gilbert Poole

David Gilbert Poole, 81, of Lincoln, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving daughters.

Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the funeral home with Tracy Thomas officiating.

David was born January 13, 1940, in Decatur, IL., the son of Readis Gilbert Poole and Dolly (Lindsey). He married Helen Logsdon. She preceded him in death in 2006. He later married Nancy Poole. She preceded him in death in 2021.

David was employed at PPG from 1961-1992. He then worked at Lincoln Developmental Center from 1992-2002 when he retired. He enjoyed watching television, his computer, and reading.
Survivors include his daughters Leigh Ann Horner (Josh) and Laura Poole Greer; step daughter Lori Brown; granddaughter Daisy Horner; step grandchildren Alex Brown and Roger Brown; and sister Rita Gray.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, wife Nancy, and brother Jim Poole.
