Kenneth Wayne Hutchison

Kenneth Wayne Hutchison, 53, of Lincoln, passed away December 6, 2023, at his home.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM. Monday, December 11, 2023, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 PM also at the funeral home.

Ken was born April 25, 1970, in Pekin, IL., the son of Ronald Wesley Hutchison and Diane (Langenbahn) Hutchison. He married Michele “Shelley” Shinall on August 3, 2013. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Guard.
Ken was a hard worker with a never quit attitude. He was a one-of-a-kind man with a great personality and a joy for life, even though he struggled with heart issues. Spending time with his family was his greatest joy. He was proud to be HVAC certified. At one time Ken was the manager at Auto Zone. He then worked at Caterpillar until his heart transplant in 2012. After his transplant, he tried to keep working, but the doctors told him it was time for retirement. He continued to serve his community as a lawn mower repairman alongside Harold Stanton.
Ken enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping, travel, motorcycle riding, music, and drawing. He loved the Lord with all of his heart and was an active member of Faith Church. He enjoyed attending and helping with Special Touch (Adult Disability) Getaways.

Survivors include his parents Ronald and Diane Hutchison, his wife Shelley Hutchison, 7 children: Casie (Josh) Morss, Kaeleb (Alexis) Hutchison, Tara Hutchison (Andrei Ferguson), Robbie (Gwen) Beard, Samantha (Nate) Anderson, Emma Hutchison (Dan McCormick), and Jersey Hutchison; 18 grandchildren; siblings Jan (Doug) Trier, Jennifer (David) Coe, and Jeremy (Amanda) Hutchison; mother and father in law Carl and Pam Shinall, brother in law Tim (Toni) Shinall, chosen family Harold and Goldie Stanton and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorial donations may be made to Special Touch Illinois or to Gift of Hope and will be accepted at the funeral home.
