Lester Clair Hoover, 91, of Lincoln, passed away November 21, 2023, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was living with his wife at Copper Creek Cottages.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 7, 2024 at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home and burial will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
Lester was born June 11, 1932, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Dolores Ferrel on March 18, 1963. Lester retired from United Airlines after many years of service. He loved board games and puzzles and even made his own board games. He proudly went on the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
Survivors include his wife Dolores Hoover, daughter Janel (Ed) Tibbits, son David Hoover, and grandchildren Rachel Hoover and Crystal Hoover.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Pat.
Memorial donations may be made to His Hands Outreach (his son in law’s ministry) and will be accepted at the funeral home.
