Richard Goad, 83, of Springfield, formerly of Lincoln, passed away November 2, 2025 at St. John’s Hospital. Cremation rites have been accorded by holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield.
Richard was born November 29, 1941, in Logan County, IL., the son of Everett Goad and Elsie (Deckard). He married Lois Goad on February 3, 1968. She preceded him in death in 2019. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. Richard retired from Lincoln Developmental Center.
Survivors include his daughter Kristina Hyatt (Bob) , grandchildren: Justin, Josiah, Jacob, and Joshua’ great grandchildren: Riley, Jordan, Carter, AMorah, and Oliver; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, and his siblings: Edward, Everett Jr., Lester, and Mary.
