Charles Robert “Bob” Rickord

Charles Robert “Bob” Rickord, 91, of Lincoln, passed away December 8, 2023, at Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home with a time of sharing at 7 PM. Cremation rites will then be accorded, and burial will be at a later date in Camp Butler National Cemetery with his wife Nancy.
Bob was born August 14, 1932, in Lincoln, IL., the son of Edward and Viola (Bunzel) Rickord. He was a lifelong Lincoln resident. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Nancy Brown on November 17, 1967. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2018.
He had an impressive work ethic, receiving an award for only missing one day of work in 30 years of employment at Lehn and Fink. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a great bowler, bowled a perfect 300 game. He loved to garden and always grew a variety of vegetables.
Survivors include his children: Robert Allen Rickord (David), April Rickord (Dwayne), and Shawn Rickord; grandchildren: Kailey Sasse, Carson Rickord, Peyton Rickord, Dulcie Rickord, Perry Pearson, and Khloe Ellison; great granddaughter Iris Alexandria Sasse; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was a “Dad” to many of his kids’ friends. He was always there when he was needed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nancy, and his brother Edward “Doodle” Rickord.
Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with final expenses and will be accepted at the funeral home.
