Yvonne Kay (Harp) Cheek

Yvonne Kay (Harp) Cheek, 71, of Lincoln, passed away August 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Irish Grove Cemetery in Middletown, IL. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Yvonne was born January 26, 1951, in Pekin, IL., the daughter of James and Wilma (Stone) Harp. She was a 1969 graduate of San Jose High School. She married Mark Allen Cheek on September 10, 1969, in Palmyra, MO. and was fiercely loyal to him for 53 years.
Mrs. Cheek retired from Lehn and Fink in Lincoln, IL. During her retirement she enjoyed lending an ear to her boys and always being there for them. She enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting with anyone, she did not know a stranger. Yvonne greeted everyone with open arms and an infectious smile.
Being raised a farmer’s daughter, she was an accomplished cook and was well known for many recipes, but most of all her cheery cheesecakes.

She is survived by her husband Mark, children: Chad Allen Cheek of Hartsburg, Jason Michael Burkhart, whom she always considered one of her own, of Hartsburg, and Joshua Kyle Cheek (Shelli) of Lincoln; and special grandson Tanner Michael Cheek also of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by a son James Albert Cheek, a daughter Amy Lynn Cheek, her parents, sister Loretta Harp-Jones, and brothers Dallas, Richard, and Marvin Harp.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Clinical and Research Fund https://secure.jhu.edu/form/Huntingtonsdisease or to Logan County Animal Rescue.
Memorials for Logan County Animal Rescue will be accepted at the funeral home, mailed to LAR 750 Prairie St. Lincoln, IL 62656 or by calling Kelly Cale at 21-735-2105.
